Description
Nancy Drew: Codes and Clues is an educational game developed for HER Interactive. It mixes STEM learning with hidden object gameplay. While trying to solve a mystery, the player helps Nancy and her friends find clues and program their robot puppy to solve puzzles.
The game was developed across 5 months via a team of 11 developers.
My Role
As Technical Designer on the project, I worked on a variety of tasks including:
- Created and implemented a system for designers to quickly create and iterate on basic in-game cutscenes
- Implemented UI that dynamically scaled across different aspect ratios
- Managed the Android port of the game, which included writing various plugins for functionality such as permission management, picture saving, and in-app purchasing
- Ported the game for Comcast, which included updating the game to run on a Linux box and updating the control scheme to work with a custom Comcast remote control
